The projection “Who needs time?” is based on a two-minute clip from the first episode of the BBC television series Dr Who. Any film clip is made of two-dimensional frames, which when placed along a time axis produce moving images. The Robert Turner Collective consider this as a unified 2+1-dimensional space-time, and then modify how we view it by interchanging one of the spatial dimensions with time. The result is a mysterious, slowly evolving distortion of our usual perception, in which faintly recognisable features come in and out of existence.
